Uncapped - Sci-FI FPS Puzzle Game

Uncapped is a physics-based, sci-fi first person puzzle adventure that was developed during a Co-op Education program of over 8 months for our final year at Sheridan College's Bachelor of Game Design program. Unity Engine was used to develop the game. The entire project mimicked an authentic development pipeline, and still to this day is one of the projects that elavated me from Student to Designer.

  • Modular pieces were developed to dictate virtually all elements of our level design structures. It was a challenge to have these pieces align with our visual direction, but also function as a compliment to our puzzle systems.

  • We used mostly flat monochromatic structures in our levels to contrast the vibrant/colorful elements of our puzzles.

  • A skill tree flow chart was during development to efficiently display the core mechanics of the application and how their systems are shared or even compete with other systems.

  • The player controlled a pressure gun which shot balls. A yellow ball is shot out and can activate yellow switches. When the ball bounces, it becomes purple and can activate purple switches

  • This minimalistic and simplistic design solution allowed us to create challenging puzzles revolving around a two color basic logic system.
